Copyright Act

In accordance with Irish law, photography is copyright protected, comparable to software, music, architectural design or written word.

Copyright cannot be bought or sold, but a licence (similar to a software licence) can be issued outlining usage rights. A breach of the copyright act can result in a significant fine or imprisonment.

The copyright of the photographs is the property of the photographer. Images cannot be copied, scanned, or reproduced in any form whatsoever without the written permission of the photographer.
